place looks cool, and i’ve seen some youtube video of the spot. big bass there.
great vid but 9:45 shows Burrell’s Ford campground, where i suggested we stay on the Chattooga. i’ve been reading about BF for years but wondered if there were hanging spots. hell yes.
capital A-Amazing trout fishing right here. i’m making this mandatory in the fall. it’s only like a mile off the road too no massive hike in or anything. did i mention it’s free and open year round?
Paddle/ Electric Only, Probably not too crowded, and not too far away. A pretty good deal for a modest fee, although I’m not too keen on the limited hours. Eh?
new friend, blogger and jackson fishing team member Jim Ware glowingly suggested this as one of his all-time favorite experiences. this dude has fished and paddled and camped alllll over the place.
bonus: the chance to catch the rare and elusive Suwanee Bass.
Upriver from the calm of the Dawson Forest Tract the Etowah River has a bit more character. It also has a scary / awesome tunnel.
